Chocolate Lovers' Delight
My son and I are suffering from major cabin fever. He is feeling somewhat better, but not well enough to go out. You would think that in a house with several sewing machines, computers, DVDs, cars, trains and toys we would be able to entertain ourselves for days on end.
No, I wanted to bake instead, and I wasn't in the mood for weird, which ruled out most of my vintage cookbooks. I just wanted good. These turned out PERFECTLY! That is a first for me.
Notice I found star shaped muffin pans, to go with my flowers and hearts. All turned out the same, evenly well done.
I made the Chocolate Lovers' Delight from Esther Brody's '500 Best Muffin Recipes'. I have several of Ms. Brody's books, and they are all quite good. They are easy and use ingredients most folks have handy, too.
After eating a few of these we were feeling much happier!
I'm also reading the Cherry Cheesecake Murder, by Joanne Fluke. It has many great recipes, as all her books do. Check out her site at www.murdershebaked.com. One recipe in there inspired me to create my own for a contest - my first attempt at that! More soon on that...
