Still another one from the Better Homes and Gardens Junior Cook Book from 1963. There are lots more in here I want to do, too. I love the graphic on this Saucy Spaghetti. Is she really wearing a dress to make spaghetti sauce? Now I have a friend visiting Italy now, and I doubt she is eating anything like this.
You'll need: 1 can spaghetti in tomato sauce with cheese (oh boy)
1 4-oz. can Vienna sausage (In a can?)
Take out: saucepan, skillet, can opener, spoon, fork, serving dish, potholder
1. Open can of spaghetti; empty that contents into saucepan. Heat slowly. Stir occasionally with a spoon.
2. Open can of Vienna sausage and put sausages in a skillet. Heat slowly over low heat. Use fork to turn the sausages.
3. Arrange the hot spaghetti and the sausage on serving plate. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese. Serves two or three.
I am packing this morning to talk about Vintage Spring Holidays at the Crest Hill branch of the Des Plaines Valley Library District. I enjoy going there - it's a return visit. The Irish Soda Bread, Mardi Gras pastries, Cadbury eggs and Passover candied fruit slices are ready to go!
Today is also my 15th anniversary at the Schaumburg Twp. Library. I started as the preschool librarian and got into teen services a few years later. It's been amazing. Everyone should have the fun in their career that I have.

AHH, yes. I had one of those cookbooks!
I had the Better Homes Junior Cookbook when I was a kid and totally forgot about that spaghetti, although I used the chili recipe for years! The new ones aren't the same :o( Neither is the New Betty Crocker Cookbook. My old one doesn't care how bad butter is for you :o) Thanks for the memories!
