Shamrock Designer Cake

Yesterday's Lime Ribbon Delight Came from this cooknook, and here's another St. Pat's Day Gem, though I don't know why the word Designer is in the title.
Prepare Betty Crocker Angel Food Cake Mix as directed on package except-tint batter light green and fold in 1/4 tsp. peppermint extract after mixing. Pour batter into an ungreased tube pan, 10x4 inches. Bake as directed. Cool. Remove from pan.
Prepare Betty Crocker Fluffy White Frosting Mix as directed on package. Frost sides and top of cake.
Dip shamrock cookie cutter into green food coloring; then press into frosting, making an imprint on top of cake. Repeat, dipping cookie cutter each time into green food coloring, until there is a circle of shamrocks on top of cake.
I don't get this last part (Wouldn't the food coloring drip and not imprint evenly? Wouldn't it just be an outline?), but the mint angel food cake sounds wonderful.
I'm whipping through a bunch of teen mysteries now for my Crimespree column, and enjoyed Shift by Jennifer Bradbury. Two men travel cross country on their bikes after high school graduation and only one returns.
