(While Amy is away, we’re following Ms. Prune Whip’s trip to the cookbook room at Jane Addams Book Shop in Champaign, Illinois, through her field notes and photographs.)
Expedition, Day 2: Ecstatic! While admiring breadth and depth of collection, found The Golden Fluffo Cookbook. Regaled photographer with imitation of Mike Wallace in Golden Fluffo television commercial. However, not sure Fluffo was in tune with 1950s teens. Description of smorgasbord table for teen party reads: “A centerpiece of amusing papier-mache horses, feather dusters, and paper pinwheels is part of the overall merriment.” Merry feather dusters are at far left in photo.
