On this day in 1977, Elvis Presley passed away at his home in Memphis, TN. (I've been to Graceland several times.)
I've been given this cookbook by a few people, most early as a wedding present. Nothing heathly in here, I can assure you.
Get your defibrillator ready:
Fried Potato Sandwich
1/2 pound bacon, browned (save drippings)
2 russet potatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
Onions
White bread
Mustard
Fry potatoes and onions in bacon grease till well done. Layer bacon, potatoes, and onions on white bread. Smear generously with mustard. Sear briefly under open grill. Yield: 1 sandwich. Yep - all that for one sandwich!
