The Jello Pudding Sampler

This 1975 pamphlet cookbook is also from the treasure stash my friend Claire gave me. It is actually a needlepoint sampler on both covers, which is why I'm posting it here. I hope that was graphically made, because can you imagine making that? Look at the back cover below, too! Now I guess it's kind of cute, but who wants to 1. spend the hours and 2. put that on their wall?

I remember making a banana split sundae embroidered piece for home ec when I was younger, and also a stuffed gingerbread man. Hmm...that theme started early with me, I guess! The sundae kit was from the To-Sew company, and I also made pillows from them. Get this - they are still in business, as Haan Crafts, now with game controller pillow kits! I loved these, and made several, including a computer, hot dog and more.

This cookbook has no weird recipes that I could find, just a lot of Jello Pudding. this one is a quick and easy one I think lots of you would enjoy.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

1 package (6-serving size) Jell-O chocolate pudding and pie filling

2 1/3 cups milk

2/3 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter

1 baked 9-inch pie shell, cooled

Combine pie filling mix, milk, and peanut butter in a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a full bubbling boil. Remove from heat; cool 5 minutes, stirring twice. Pour into pie shell. Chill about 3 hours. Garnish with prepared whipped topping, if desired.

I finished Hester Browne's The Finishing Touches, which was very fun. She reminds me of Katie Fforde, another British chick lit author.

OMG! I love to cross-stitch, and I'm loving the Jello pudding needlepoint. I would totally take the time to make one those projects. It's too quirky to pass up! Thanks for sharing. Loving your blog.
