Cream Cheese Snowcaps for Cookie Month

This is a cookbook for 1985 - I actually call it vintage as it is 25 years old. Plus I like it a lot...

This looks easy and fun, not to mention tasty!

Cream Cheese Snowcaps
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 3-oz. package cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. lemon or almond extract
1 cup powdered sugar

Combine flour and baking powder.  In a small mixer bowl beat butter or margarine and cream cheese till softened.  Add sugar and extract and beat till fluffy.  Add flour mixture and beat till well mixed.  Cover and chill for 1 - 2 hours till easy to handle.

Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake in a 350 F oven for 12 - 15 minutes or till done.  Remove and cool slightly.  In a plastic bag gently shake a few cookies at a time in powdered sugar.  Cool thoroughly.  When cool, shake cookies again in powdered sugar.  Makes about 36.
