Prune-Mallow Spice Squares

You knew I'd find a prune recipe in this one. I was also intrigued by the title page. Her look seems to be saying "I wish he'd stop flirting with her and help me with this enormous bowl," or "Will this evening never end?" I'm not sure, but it's not a friendly face.
I have a couple more weird but true recipes from Quick and Easy before moving on. Here's Prune-Mallow Spice Squares:
1 pkg. spice- or yellow-cake mix
1/2 cup juice from prunes
1/4 lb. large marshmallows, snipped
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup cut up, pitted, cooked or canned prunes
1/3 cup chopped pecans
If you really want the directions to this, email me. I read down until the 'refrigerate until slightly thickened' and could take no more!
I'm reading Julie Hyzy's latest Hail to the Chef. I like her White House chef series, and the food sounds a lot more delicious than these. Plus Julie is a great person.

The cookbook picture today is great! The cookbook is a little younger than the one I reviewed on my blog today-1915! No color pictures. Your blog is fun. Keep up the good job!

I love the really old cookbooks! There is a category in my local county fair for oldest cookbook. I've gotten second place, but there's always someone with one older than what I have. I think you'd win.
Thanks for the nice note!
