Honey Buns

This is from the 29th Pillsbury Bake-Off, published in 1980. I am surprised to learn it is from 1980 as the recipes are largely very time-consuming. With that Bake-Off, folks usually have to use particular products, so that may be the reason.
At any rate, this one caught my eye as the perfect weekend breakfast item. Plus it didn't look too hard to make; which is always my main criteria in cooking. That plus a recipe with no prunes of course.
Honey Buns
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup margarine or butter, melted
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 tsp. McCormick/Schilling Cinnamon
10 oz. can. Hungry Jack Refrigerated Big Flaky Biscuits (I think now you can just get Grands.)
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted, if desired
Heat oven to 350 F. In small bowl, combine nuts, honey and 1/3 cup melted margarine; pour into ungreased 8x4 or 9x5 inch loaf pan. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. In small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Pat about 1 tsp. of mixture on one side of each biscuit. Stand biscuits on edge, slightly overlapping, in 2 rows of 5 biscuits each in prepared pan. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons melted margarine.
Bake at 350F for 25 - 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 3 minutes; turn onto serving plate. Serve warm or cool. 10 rolls.
What's your favorite weekend goody?
I'm reading Ann Rinaldi's new YA: Leigh Ann's Civil War for a review. My husband and I used to do reenacting, and it is a fascinating way to spend a weekend. You learn so much about history from immersion. I loved making those clothes, and even though the layers were heavy and uncomfortable, it is kind of cool to have all that on and be from the past for a bit.

This is perfect-I have a family brunch coming up early October. I'm sure it's low cal-I'll keep telling myself that.
