Granola Raisin Cookies - on Bank Stationary

This is indeed a tent in my living room. Currently, two of my nieces and a nephew are staying with us for a few days. We are having a blast with them, but we do have a ranch house with three bedrooms. We moved our older son out into the living room into a tent with the nephew, so it's kind of like their own room. Then they can get up early and play Wii, which is what happened this morning. The nieces are coming with to help me with my show at Ela Area Public Library today, and I'm looking forward to that as well.

One of the best things about saving handwritten recipes is that sometimes they are written on scraps that give clues about the owner and where they possibly lived. This is written on a pad from an Investment Banker firm in Colorado. The cookies sound pretty good, too!

Granola Raisin Cookies
3/4 C. shortening
1 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. sugar
1 egg
1/4 C. H2O
1 tsp. vanilla
3 C. granola
1 1/4 C. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 C. raisins
Mix the shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Drop by spoonful. Cook 11 - 13 minutes at 350 degrees. It makes 5 dozen cookies.

Love the "real" tent in the living room. We used to have to make do with sheets draped over chairs. I'm going to try that cookie recipe. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Amy.
